Amy Smart won’t need to do any home repairs for the rest of her life.
That’s because the actress got engaged this week to HGTV star Carter Oosterhouse. Smart made the announcement, which she deemed “new” and “exciting,” at the Earth Lovers in Celebration of Earth Day event in New York on Thursday.
The couple met in November of last year and a pal says they instantly had something in common: affection for the environment.
“He’s an eco-carpenter; Amy drives a hybrid and is the greenest girl I know,” says the friend. “They are perfect for each other.”

Kenny Ortega, the producer of Michael Jackson’s This Is It tour, was just dropped as a defendant in the wrongful death suit filed by Katherine Jackson.

But Katherine Jackson’s lawyer, Kevin Boyle, says that based on new info, the family “determined that Mr. Ortega should not be a defendant.”

CW’s hit series 90210 is getting a shakeup with the announcement that series regulars Lori Loughlin and Ryan Eggold will not be returning during season four of the show.
Just like the original Aaron Spelling ’90s version of the show, adult actors are being phased out as the shows central characters grow up and head off to college, putting them in more grown-up adult situations.
With less emphasis being put on high school kids parents, keeping Loughlin and Matthews around wouldn’t make much sense to the growth of the shows younger characters and so they are being disposed of.

It’s official. Brett Favre has retired from the NFL.
The quarterback legend made the announcement at a press conference Sunday. He is currently listed as questionable for training camp in August.
“One season does not define me,” said Favre, referring to a lackluster final year with Minnesota, and possibly the Jenn Sterger scandal as well.
Asked how this is different from his previous nine retirements, he cited his myriad injuries, adding “I know it’s time” and “I have no regrets.”

Following the announcement by Demi Lovato that she’s seeking treatment for an abundance of personal issues, Joe Jonas and Ashley Greene have found themselves under unexpected fire.
Fans of the 18-year old singer initially jumped to unfortunate conclusions and blamed Demi’s ex for dating Greene so soon after he and Lovato broke up. The criticism has since died down, allowing these two to focus on their relationship.
Which, sources confirm, is going extremely well.

(HMG Celebrity News) – Demi Lovato, who has inspired millions of kids as one of Disney’s most popular young stars, has canceled her international concert tour with the Jonas Brothers and has checked herself into a rehab facility,” TMZ reports. All that is known so far is that Demi, who is just 18, is seeking treatment for “emotional and physical issues,” as her rep’s statement didn’t get real specific:

(HMG Celebrity News) – I do believe in the rumors that have floated for a couple of months that there is a good chance Mariah Carey is pregnant this time. Since Nick Cannon refused to confirm or deny those rumors in August, things have died down for a while. But a new site to me at least, either has some inside info or is taking a gamble at fame. A site called Hollybaby.com is reporting that Mariah Carey is expecting a baby boy in March.
“She’s having a boy, but the reason that Mariah didn’t want to say anything is because she is 40, and she’s superstitious,” a source told the website.More >
