The Alabama hostage situation, in which a man held a boy in a bunker for seven days, ended with the suspect dead and the 5-year-old safely rescued.
Reports of an explosion at Jimmy Lee Dykes’ Midland City property came first on Monday afternoon, followed shortly by media reports of his death.
At a hastily organized roadside press conference near the crime scene, FBI agent Steve Richardson said negotiations had deteriorated over the last 24 hours.

Hotel Transylvania Wins Box Office, Sets September Record

A whole lot of film fans moved in to Hotel Transylvania this weekend.
The animated flick – which features the voices of Adam Sandler and Selena Gomez, among others - earned $43 million in its first three days, according to studio estimates.
The figure blows away the previous record for a September opening, which stood at $35.6 million buy Sweet Home Alabama in 2002.
Looper, another VERY well-reviewed movie, also fared well.

Rick Ross Suffers Second Seizure on Board Second Jet

Rick Ross has suffered his second seizure of the day, sources confirm.
The rapper originally blacked out en route to a concert in Memphis, as the plane he was on made an emergency landing and medics rushed to the scene. But Ross soon awoke, claimed he was 100% and boarded a second, private jet in order to fulfill his performance date at the FedEx Forum.
TMZ reports that Ross’ second plane – which took off from Fort Lauderdale around 5 p.m. EST – was diverted to Birmingham, Alabama at 5:44 CDT due to another attack. The artist was taken to a local hospital and is in stable

Antoine Dodson Arrested for Marijuana Possession

Antoine Dodson shot to YouTube fame last July when he ranted on about chasing away an attempt rapist from his sister’s bedroom.
But the Alabama native is back in the news for being on the wrong side of the law this time.
According to TMZ, Dodson was arrested early Saturday morning on a misdemeanor citation of marijuana possession. He was also charged by Huntsville police for failing to appear on a traffic charge, failing to have car insurance and speeding.
