Prince Harry Wants to Make Princess Diana Proud With AIDS Charity Work

Prince Harry spoke about his charity work Wednesday night in South Africa, and of his late mother, who instilled the passion in him for giving back.
Princess Diana worked to help those with HIV/AIDS, and now Harry, 28, is doing the same in the tiny kingdom of Lesotho, where he’s visiting now.
The younger Prince of Wales observed the work of the charity Sentebale that he set up with friend Prince Seeiso in memory of their late mothers.
Harry said he hoped both mothers would be looking down with pride.
“I hope she would be proud of what we are trying to achieve in her name,”

Not all Oscars fashion took place on the red carpet last night.
Many stars that did not snag an invite to the main event attended the annual Elton John AIDS Foundation’s Academu Awards viewing party in Hollywood, posing for cameras on the red carpet in their Sunday night best.
Foremost among them: Miley Cyrus and Britney Spears.

Ryan Freel Found Dead; Ex-MLB Star Commits Suicide 36

Former Major League Baseball player Ryan Freel was found dead Saturday at the age of 36. He died of a self-inflicted shotgun blast in his Jacksonville home.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office was investigating the death as a suicide.
The scrappy, versatile Freel played eight seasons in the majors from 2001-09 with Toronto, Cincinnati, Baltimore, the Chicago Cubs and Kansas City.
After appearing in nine games with Toronto in 2001, he played for the Reds from 2003-08 before spending 2009 with the Orioles, Cubs and Royals.

Fiona Apple Arrested For Hashish

Fiona Apple has been arrested for hashish possession at a border crossing in the state of Texas. You could say that is borderline “Criminal” behavior.
Sierra Blanca, Tex., is quickly becoming the celebrity mugshot capital of the world, with Willie Nelson, Snoop Dogg, Armie Hammer and now Fiona.
Here’s Apple’s booking photo taken after her bus was searched:
Officials found hashish, or hash, a strong form of cannabis, on Apple’s tour bus. Cops say that the 35-year-old was also in possession of a small amount of weed.

John Travolta Accuser: I Can Prove It!

The man suing John Travolta for sexual battery is responding to the actor’s denials, saying he can in fact prove the salacious behavior took place.
Marty Singer, Travolta’s lawyer, says the lawsuit from the anonymous masseur is totally unfounded, as John wasn’t even in town at the time.
Despite his claim that Travolta was not in L.A. January 16, and that the suit is “complete fiction and fabrication,” John Doe tells a different story.
“I have proof to support the truth that I’m telling,” he said.

Adam Lambert will join iconic band Queen on tour this summer, both sides announced this week, a development that follows the singer’s 2009 American Idol finale performance with original members Brian May and Roger Taylor; as well as their teaming up again at the MTV European Music Awards in November.

Zachary Quinto Comes Out as Gay

It’s long been suspected, but former Heroes star Zachary Quinto made the announcement this week: he’s gay.
Coming off a performance on stage in Angels in America – playing a character who abandons his AIDS-stricken boyfriend – Quinto spoke to New York Magazine this week and said the off-Broadway play was “the most challenging thing I’ve ever done as an actor, and the most rewarding,” adding:
“At the same time, as a gay man, it made me feel like there’s still so much work to be done, and there’s still so many things that need to be looked at and addressed.”

Jenelle Evans: NO Jail Time For Savage Beating!

Jenelle Evans will somehow go to jail for eviscerating Britany Truett in a fight back in March. The Teen Mom star was given a 30-day suspended sentence today.
Evans was charged with simple affray, which is less bad than the aggravated assault she arguably could have been hit with, and also got 12 months probation.
If she stays clean for a year, she’ll avoid jail. We’d say that’s a toss-up …
