Look out, Henry Cavill. An Oscar nominee will soon be coming your way.
Michael Shannon has been cast as General Zod, the main villain, in Superman: Man of Steel. The Boardwalk Empire star is also known for his role in Revolutionary Road.
Said director Zack Snyder of the casting: “Zod is not only one of Superman’s most formidable enemies, but one of the most significant because he has insights into Superman that others don’t. Michael is a powerful actor who can project both the intelligence and the malice of the character, making him perfect for the role.”

But Amy Adams has been cast as Lois Lane, joining a cast that includes British actor Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman, Diane Lane as Martha Kent and Kevin Costner as Pa Kent. Jeremy London’s abductor says ‘ordeal’ was a joyride

[HMG] – In a telling sequel to the story told by Party of Five actor, Jeremy London about being ‘kidnapped,’ the man accused of the crime, Brandon Adams, says the actor is just making stuff up.
London told Palm Springs police he was changing a tire on the afternoon of June 10 when Adams and two other men offered to help. He was then – so he says – kidnapped in his own car, held at gunpoint and ‘forced to smoke drugs.’
Brandon, 26, who is now in a cell on $500,000 bail, disagrees – He says the whole trip was a consensual joy-ride, fueled by drugs and some booze.
