Casey Abrams Goes Back to Nature, Boy
“It’s hard to find a song that defines me as an artist.” – Casey Abrams
These American Idol kids are getting frisky. Like James Durbin, Casey butted heads a bit with producer Jimmy Iovine regarding his selection Wednesday.
Jimmy nearly talked Abrams into doing Phil Collins’ “In the Air Tonight,” but he went with his gut and that meant channeling a little Nat King Cole.
Iovine wasn’t pleased, but the judges give a standing ovation after a intimate, stripped down performance that Casey really put his heart and soul into.
Whether “Nature Boy” defines him as an artist remains to be seen. But

Casey Abrams is Not Going Anywhere
Casey Abrams, who was voted off American Idol the first week of the finals, only to be bailed out by the judges, is doing his best to prove himself worthy of the save.
The stripped-down version of Credence Clearwater Revival’s “Have You Ever Seen the Rain” he performed last night should keep him around another week for sure.
His energy and playing the stand-up bass in a cool, jazzy arrangement more than compensated for high-pitched vocals that were a little over the top at times.
Jennfer Lopez Defends Save of Casey Abrams
Casey Abrams might still be in shock. The same goes for American Idol viewers, who didn’t expect the judges to use their one save on him so early in the season.
But that they did last week, a decision Jennifer Lopez says she’s fine with.
“We knew that it was kind of a radical decision because it was so early in the season, but to be quite honest… that is one decision that I haven’t lost one ounce of sleep over,” the singer told Ryan Seacrest on his radio show today.
Should the judges have saved Casey Abrams? Vote now!
Okay… but why Abrams?
“[Casey] is one of our most dynamic performers.

Casey Abrams Eliminated From American Idol, Then Told He’s Safe
Casey Abrams was shaking and had to sit down after he was eliminates on Thursday night from reality TV show American Idol and then told half way through his “last chance” song that he was safe.
For the first time on American Idol the panel of three judges stopped a contestant mid-song to tell them they were safe, calling Abrams dismissal from the show a huge mistake that should never have happened.
The night before Abrams sang Marvin Gaye’s “Heart It Through The Grapevine” and was even considered a show frontrunner until that point.
Also in the bottom three, Thia Megia and Stefano

Should the Judges Have Saved Casey Abrams?
Casey Abrams saw his life flash before his eyes last night. His American Idol life, that is.
The bearded singer was surprisingly voted out by fans, following a lackluster Motown cover on Wednesday. Like the finalists before him, Casey was then given the chance to sing one more time in front of the judges in order to convince them to use their one-time “save” and keep him around.
And it worked! In a decision that left Abrams visibly stunned – and audibly cursing at one point, watch the clip below – J. Lo, Randy and Steven told the contestant he was safe.

American Idol Shocker: Who Got Voted Out?
Three weeks into the American Idol finals, we were treated to our first surprise. Our first shock, really.
Following an off night on Wednesday for a couple of THG favorites – Thia Megia and Casey Abrams – they found themselves in the bottom three along with Stefano Langone. It was a scary few moments for those of us who love Thia’s voice and Casey’s originality.
In the end, Megia and Langone were told to join the other, safe contestants, while millions of jaws crashed to the floor when Ryan told Casey he had been voted out. He went back to “I Don’t Need No Doctor” in an attempt to be

Casey Abrams: Growling, Howling, Earning Standing Ovation
The concluding, standing ovation-inducing performance of Casey Abrams on American Idol last night almost never happened.
This semifinalist was holed up in a hospital late last week, teetering on the edge of disqualification when he came close to missing Friday’s taping of the top 12 male performances.
But Casey rallied, and season 10 is clearly better off for it. The crooner delivered an unusual, sharp, entertaining rendition of “I Put a Spell on You,” growing, hissing and howling throughout, before ending on a relaxed high note. Both literally and figuratively. It was the ideal
