Sammy Hagar has met aliens, he claims in new book
[HMG Celebrity News] – The world of heavy metal is rich with unique characters and Van Halen front-man, Sammy Hagar is certainly among them. In his new book, ‘Red: My Uncensored Life in Rock’ Sam tells some amazing stories of back-stage life, but most striking among them is the tale of being abducted by aliens.
Within the slender 256 pages are the usual tales of drugs and wild sexual exploits, but it also outlines Sam’s long-standing interest in UFO’s and the more mystical areas of life. He’s a fan of psychics and numerology, and MTV recently asked why this was never really clear in his songs?
“I’ve done a few songs that have sci-fi themes,” he recalls. “People say there’s no other life in the universe. If we’re really the only ones out here, that’s scarier to me than thinking about aliens. But that’s been played down because I don’t want to sound like I’m crazy.”
Sammy, 63, says his opinions on aliens are ‘out there,’ and he’s really into the idea of UFOs. He’s even sure he’s been on one. The book tells of a dream about being contacted by aliens near Fontana, California, but Sam says it was real.
“I saw a ship and two creatures inside this ship,” says the book. “And they were tapped into my mind through some kind of wireless connection.”
But in person Sammy’s more blunt –
“That happened. That friggin’ happened!” he insists. “Aliens were plugged into me. It was a download situation. They downloaded something into me. Or they uploaded something, like an experiment.”
He’s completely convinced this was real, but he’s reluctant to discuss it even now in case the fans think he’s nuts.
“I couldn’t talk about it because I didn’t know how to explain it,” he tells the reporter. “They were tapped into my brain and knowledge was transferred back and forth. I could see them while it was happening. There was a visual involved, like….[He laughs.] Don’t get me going!”
That’s quite a tale. His years in Van Halen involved a lot of white powder and booze, so it could just be that. Or it could be he’s telling what he sees as the truth. Which one do you think this is?…
