Naya Rivera the Latest Name Tipped For Glee Exit
The news of Chris Colfer, Lea Michele and Cory Monteith being casted out of Glee was met with a lot of fan furor. And now another new name has been added to the potential outgoing list. Naya Rivera could be the forth fan-favorite to graduate from McKinley High, something that will effectively end her stint on the musical comedy show.
Speaking in an interview with E! at FOX’s TCA party, Naya said, “I’m a senior. I guess that means I’m graduating. That’s what happens when you’re a senior! I don’t think it’s a thing. It’s like, what is it when you’re in high school? You’re a senior, you graduate. Yes, I’m graduating this year.”
Naya, who plays the lively character of Santana Lopez, is well aware that her on-screen graduation would mean the end of her journey on Glee and she says that it would be a bittersweet experience for her.
She said, “[‘Glee’] is like our baby and we’ve been with it since the beginning and it’s always sad. It’s literally like the feeling of being in high school. It’s bittersweet, but it happens. That’s what you do. I’ve had a great run and hopefully it continues.”
Glee mastermind Ryan Murphy has dropped some hints that a spin-off show could be created to accommodate those characters that graduate out of the series, but Naya isn’t sure how Santana would fare in a college environment.
She added, “Hopefully she gets into some type of college, but I think she’s going to be a hot mess in college.”
