Lisa Edelstein Leaving ‘House’
(HMG Celebrity News) – Say goodbye to Dr. Cuddy, as actress Lisa Edelstein, one of the leads on the longtime hit FOX medical drama “House,” will not return for an eighth season of the show, TV Line reports.
“After much consideration, I am moving onward with a combination of disappointment at leaving behind a character I have loved playing for seven years and excitement of the new opportunities in acting and producing that lie ahead,” Edelstein said in a statement.
Just last week, Edelstein’s costars Robert Sean Leonard and Omar Epps renewed their contracts to rejoin Hugh Laurie, Olivia Wilde and Peter Jacobson.
The only recurring cast member who has yet to renew his contract is Jesse Spencer, 32, who has played Dr. Robert Chase since the series began.
FOX ordered the eighth season last week, and speculation has been that it could be the show’s last.
