Gwyneth Paltrow Sings ‘Country Strong’ at CMA Awards
(HMG Celebrity News) – Oscar-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow grabbed a guitar and sang the title track to her new movie, ‘Country Strong,’ the 44th annual CMA Awards. Accompanied by Vince Gill who sang harmony and played on rhythm guitar, Paltrow received a standing ovation for her performance. Making her live singing debut Paltrow appeared to look very nervous at the start but she seemed to relax more once Vince joined in.
In ‘Country Strong,’ Paltrow plays Kelly Canter a living legend in the music business who is in rehab for alcoholism. Tim McGraw plays her manager/husband, who pulls her out of rehab in an attempt to revive her career with a comeback tour. While stars Garrett Hedlund as a rising singer-songwriter who becomes romantically involved with Gwyneth’s character. Leighton Meester plays a beauty queen turned country singer who scores an opening act on Kelly’s comeback tour.
Next up, Paltrow will perform a mashup of “Singing in the Rain” and Rihanna’s “Umbrella” on next week’s episode of Glee, before Country Strong hits theaters on December 22.
