Comedian George Lopez may not be the leading late night talk show man at TBS anymore, but he sure is stirring up some controversy for late night TV.

Lopez admitted to Piers Morgan on his CNN show that he doesn’t care much for competitor Jay Leno. Previously describing Leno has the “biggest two-faced dude and a backstabber,” Lopez played off the vile nature of his remarks but didn’t retract his previous statements.

“I don’t have a personal relationship with Jay Leno. We are not friends. Nor have we ever been friendly. I’ve heard some things said about me by him that I took exception to,” said Lopez.

When Morgan promoted him on exactly what, Lopez alluded to potential racist remarks, “You know, he said somethings that were not appropriate to people of my color, which I found disingenuous from somebody else. That’s a pretty big chip to pull out.”

In Hollywood circles, it’s known that the late night talk show hosts, including Conan O’Brien, Jimmy Fallon, Dave Letterman, Craig Ferguson and Jimmy Kimmel, would not be caught having a beer with Leno. Lopez explained, “To a man, I think the one thing we agree on is that we’re not all crazy about Jay Leno.”

“I think in our own personal dealings with him, some people get along and some people don’t.”

Is he just overly competitive? “I don’t think competition is the right word.l I think he’s just a little bit more interested in everybody else than he should be,” theorized Lopez.
