Elin Nordegren got $110m in Tiger Woods split, sources confirm
[HMG Celebrity News] – After one of the longest, most public divorces in modern history, one of the few secrets left has now been revealed – The settlement received by Elin Nordegren from her ex, Tiger Woods was a cool $110 million.
But friends claims that despite her new wealth, Elin’s not throwing money around. Before the split she could use Tiger’s private jet, but last week she flew from Orlando to LA and back on Virgin America.
“She could afford the jet but didn’t even consider it,” claims one insider. “She’s not cheap, she’s just not wasting money the way some people would.”
The snitch also says Elin is cutting down on household expenses.
“She has cut back on the hours some people work,” a friend told Radar. “But she’s not acting like she hit the lottery.”
And while her payoff is around 12-times what Rachel Uchitel received, some people think that, with Tiger’s net worth guessed at $500-million she could have got even more.
“Tiger is worth hundreds of millions with the deals he’s made,” a source told Radar. “She wanted enough to not change her lifestyle, but she didn’t try to take him for every penny she could.”
The same enabling friends say Elin now plans to ‘move on with her life.’ And those plans may include a new home in Florida, where Tiger has a mansion – valued around $80-million.
Their divorce was long and often bitter, and sources say one major cause of delay was Tiger’s desire to have access to their two children; three year old Sam, and her brother Charlie, who’s just 18-months.
“Tiger was worried Elin would move back to Sweden and take them,” the source said. “That was a bigger hang up than the money. Making sure he had access was crucial for Tiger.”
