Discovery Channel Special Re-enacting Michael Jackson’s Autopsy Called ‘In Bad Taste’
(HMG Celebrity News) – Such is the nature of television today that there are few filters and almost anything can be made into a special very quickly. The Discovery Channel is airing a prime time show set for Jan. 13 in the United Kingdom which will re-enact the Michael Jackson’s autopsy. In an open letter (via TMZ) sent to Discovery Communications on Wednesday, John Branca and John McClain co-executors of Jackson’s estate condemned the show entitled Michael Jackson’s Autopsy: What Really Killed Michael Jackson, as “in shockingly bad taste,” and inspired only ”blind desire to exploit Michael’s death, while cynically attempting to dupe the public into believing this show will have serious medical value.” If you want an example of ‘bad taste’ look no further than a print advertisement for the show, showing a body covered with a sheet, with one hand exposed wearing Jackson’s iconic sequined glove; Branca and McClain call the ad “debased, sick and insensitive.” The letter went on to say “On behalf of Michael’s family, fans, common sense and decency, we urge you to reconsider and cancel this program.”
