Steve Gleason Skit Gets Atlanta Radio Station Hosts Fired

Three hosts at Atlanta radio station 790 the Zone have been fired for partaking in an on-air skit mocking former New Orleans Saints player Steve Gleason.

Gleason, a one-time pro safety who suffers from ALS at the age of 36, was the subject of a routine many listeners and NFL players deemed offensive.

A swift Internet backlash led to angry calls flooding the radio station, and the trio was initially suspended indefinitely. Mere hours later, they were terminated.

Rick Mack, 790 The Zone Senior V.P. and G.M., said in a statement:

Sebastien De La Cruz Sings National Anthem Again, Sticks It to Haters

Sebastien De La Cruz returned to the national stage last night to sing the national anthem, two days after being subjected to racist and hate-filled Tweets.

The 11-year old was back behind the microphone (introduced by San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro) despite the fact that many people online reacted in shock and disgust over someone with Mexican heritage being given such a platform.

But De La Cruz handled the controversy with grace and maturity, the same way he handled this rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner:

“So what will you do off the course in order to be at ease and relax?”

When Tiger saw it was Cheyenne Woods, he beamed with laughter:

“Didn’t expect that,” he said. “Well, off the course, we have a great crew at the house and we’re

In October, Ian Rappaport of the NFL Network was hit squarely in the noggin while previewing a matchup between the Packers and Texas.

And on Saturday, Fox Sports Wisconsin’s Sophia Minnaert was updating viewers on the impressive state of the Milwaukee defense… when an errant warmup throw knocked the mic out of her hands.

Robbie Rogers has signed a contract with the Los Angeles Galaxy of Major League Soccer, meaning he will soon become the first openly gay athlete to participate in an American team sport.
