Regis Philbin and Kathie Lee Gifford to Reunite on The Today Show?

How might the potential firing of Ann Curry bring about a reunion between one of TV’s most beloved tandems? Well…

Rumors are circulating that if when Curry is let go by The Today Show, her seat will be filled by Hota Kotb, who currently hosts the program’s fourth hour alongside Kathie Lee Gifford.

This, of course, would leave an empty chair alongside Kathie Lee… and it might be occupied by Regis Philbin, sources say!

Philbin and Gifford, of course, spent years by each other’s side on Live! every morning until the latter left in 2001 and was replaced by Kelly Ripa. Regis then retired from

Blue Ivy Carter Named Honorary Citizen of Croatian Island

Blue Ivy Carter is quite the worldly baby.

Beyonce and Jay-Z’s little girl, five months, has been named an honorary citizen of the Croatian Island of Hvar, where the pair vacationed last summer.

The tribute stems from a blog post Beyonce posted in March, and from a moment on the island that may well have inspired the little girl’s unique name.

“We woke up this morning, took a nice little walk, passed by this beautiful blue tree,” the then-pregnant Beyonce shared in a video released on her blog.

“I think it’s Blue Ivy, which would be quite appropriate!”

Daytime Emmy Awards 2012: List of Winners!

Saturday night honored the best in non-prime time TV as the Daytime Emmy Awards were handed out at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif.

“Daytime” is classified as 2 a.m. until 6 p.m., so there was a lot of ground to cover for Anderson Cooper and Oscar the Grouch, who served as co-hosts.

Despite two soap operas biting the dust this year (All My Children and One Life to Live), the annual award gala was a positive one across the board.

Notably, despite a ratings dip and rumors of Ann Curry’s firing, NBC’s Today Show nabbed the award for Outstanding Morning Show program just the

Ryan Seacrest to Cover the Summer Olympics on NBC

Will Ryan Seacrest be taking over for Matt Lauer on The Today Show?

The American Idol host addressed that rumor this morning… to Matt Lauer on The Today Show.

After joking about taking both Lauer’s job and that of weatherman Al Roker, Seacrest revealed that, yes, he has signed a new deal with NBC Universal. But Lauer can rest easy.

“The plan is for me to join the NBC family and continue to have a role at the E! network,” Ryan said. “The first assignment will be to join the prime time team for the Olympics on NBC.”

From there, who knows. But one thing is certain: this appearance by

The question, of course, remains: who will join Reid and Cowell on the show’s panel? Mariah Carey has been a rumored name for weeks, with the latest chatter surrounding Beyonce and a ridiculous offer Simon supposedly made to Blue Ivy’s mom.

Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul Confirm Judge’s Departure from The X Factor

Yes, Paula Abdul really is out of The X Factor.

While no one doubted the veracity of this morning’s report – which detailed the ousting of Abdul, Nicole Scherzinger and Steve Jones – the singer herself had not spoken out about the decision until now.

“I’ve learned through my longevity in this industry that business decisions often times override personal considerations,” Paula said in a statement. “Simon and I, along with Fox and [producers] Fremantle, have been communicating about this for a while now, and I have absolute understanding of the situation.

“Simon is, and will remain a dear

FX Boss Believes in Charlie Sheen, Redemption

Charlie Sheen is on his way back into our living room: his FX sitcom premieres in June.

What made that network take a chance on the troubled actor? President and general manager John Landgraf was asked this question by reporters yesterday at the Television Critics Association press tour and said he was “as skeptical as you might imagine” when he first walked in to a pitch meeting with Sheen. But then…

“I saw [a very different Charlie Sheen] in the room, and what I heard was a really good pitch for a comedy series – funny, complicated, and I think the character that Charlie ought to be

John McCain Mistakenly Endorses President Obama

Honest mistake or Freudian slip?

Sen. John McCain mixed up Barack Obama and Republican candidate Mitt Romney, who he endorsed this week, in a campaign appearance on the latter’s behalf.

Speaking on Romney’s behalf in South Carolina, the 2008 GOP nominee opined that he has little doubt President Obama will get the country going again.

Pretty funny.

Rob Lowe to Replace Regis Philbin on Live?

Regis Philbin’s replacement on ABC could be Rob Lowe, reports say.

Lowe just finished a two-day stint guest hosting with Kelly Ripa and an ABC source says the top network brass “loved the chemistry between them.”

Network executives have spoken with Lowe’s reps about making it a permanent gig, but Lowe, who stars on Parks and Recreation, is non-committal.

There’s a big surprise. One of the more itinerant actors around, Lowe has departed in the middle of numerous programs’ runs in pursuit of other projects.

Rob was just asked by TMZ whether he’s moving to New York.

He said: “We were just
