The actress – who has booked a role on American Horror Story Season 2 – showed off a shorter, lighter hairstyle/color yesterday, Tweeting to her followers the picture below, along with the caption:

Hey, did you hear that Miley Cyrus chopped off most of her hair? And dyed it blonde?
It’s true. Photos are all over the singer’s Twitter account, as are a series of defensive statements and inspirational quotes in response to mounting criticism over the look.
It’s all about self love, Cyrus wrote yesterday.
But there’s at least one celebrity who doesn’t just like Miley’s new look… she’s copied it!

Nia Long and Ime Udoka: Expecting!

Nia Long is pregnant with her second child.
Due this fall, the 40-year-old will welcome her first baby with professional basketball player Ime Udoka, 33. The former Third Watch star has a 10-year-old son, Massai Jr., with ex-boyfriend Massai Z. Dorsey.
“This is the most exciting time in our lives,” Long and Udoka said in a statement. “Words can’t explain how thrilled we are by the new addition to our family.”
“We feel truly blessed and appreciate all the well wishes and prayers.”
Congratulations to the happy couple.

Republican State Sen. Roy McDonald is one of the few members of his party currently backing an initiative to legalize gay marriage in N.Y. State.
Today, in response to pressure from some conservatives opposed to the measure, McDonald gave a tremendous statement in his own defense.
According to the The N.Y. Daily News, the 64-year-old said THIS:
“You get to the point where you evolve in your life where everything isn’t black and white, good and bad, and you try to do the right thing.”

In the realms of celebrity romance few could be more high-profile – or unstable – than that of Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth. And today, Miley’s brother, Trace is confirming the pair are trying again.
“We’re homies,” the 22-year old told Us about his sister’s rebooted beau. “I support my sister in anything she does.”
21-year old Liam first won Miley’s heart in June of ‘09 while making ‘The Last Song,” just after she broke up with Justin Gaston. Miley later called him ’My first serious boyfriend’ – right before the romance flamed out in August 2010.

Ironically, the unoriginal story made for pretty original comedy.
Making the rounds to promote Mr. Popper’s Penguins, Carrey did his best Hanks impersonation, only without any indication that he was doing one.
Until Letterman called him on it, of course …

Contrasted with her recent efforts, which have been truly epic productions, “The Edge of Glory” does not feel like a typical Lady Gaga music video whatsoever.
Which is probably precisely what she’s going for.
The ’80s-inspired power ballad, which premiered last night on So You Think You Can Dance, pays homage to her native New York City and videos of yore.
Remember when MTV used to play videos like this? Or at all? No? Anyway, “The Edge of Glory” also features E Street Band saxophonist Clarence Clemons.
