You’ll forgive Ann Curry for not caring a whole lot about what her NBC bosses think.
The former Today Show host made her first live appearance on screen last night since her controversial firing, hosting the Nightly News for Brian Williams.

Savannah Guthrie is engaged!!!
The co-anchor agreed to marry her boyfriend of four year, Michael Feldman, over the weekend, making the announcement this morning on NBC.
“Good for you and congratulations to Mr. Feldman,” said embattled colleague Matt Lauer. “He’s a great guy.”
Guthrie, who divorced BBC News presenter Mark Orchard in 2009, said she will not broadcast the nuptials on TV, a blow to her pathetically-rated network.
Feldwman works as a political and communications advisor.

The tabloid takes full advantage of the mess at Today and the controversy over Matt Lauer and claims that Curry is being “courted by top publishers to pen a tell-all.”

With the worldwide success of Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, Paramount is now developing Mission: Impossible 5.
Today, Tom Cruise has signed on to return to the role of Ethan Hunt. He will also produce.
So far, no director or writer have been confirmed for the project, but Cruise’s Jack Reacher director, Christopher McQuarrie, is rumored to be in the running.
Ghost Protocol, which was the fourth film in the series, earned $694.7 million worldwide.

Chris Brown has confirmed that he and Rihanna have in fact split, again. He gave an interview this weekend in which he put it in no uncertain terms.
Rihanna’s absence – and Karrueche Tran‘s presence – on Chris Brown’s 24th birthday did not go unnoticed, and the star was asked about it Sunday.
In a new interview with the Australian radio station 2DayFM, he said:
“I’mma do it solo. I mean, at the end of the day, shawty doin’ her own thing, she on the road. It’s always gonna be love. I’m a grown man, just gotta move forward.”

His songs still burn up the charts, and Chris Brown and Rihanna are together at least half the time nowadays, so clearly a lot of people have moved on.

A judge has officially dismissed a $5 million wiretapping lawsuit against actor Tom Cruise and his longtime attorney Bert Fields, according to reports.
The case dates all the way back to 2009, when Bold magazine editor Michael Davis Sapir sued the actor and his lawyer for hiring Anthony Pellicano.
Allegedly, Cruise and Fields hired the former private investigator to spy on him by tapping his phones in the midst of another lawsuit with the actor.

Embattled Today host Matt Lauer may soon be fired by NBC if the tanking morning show’s fortunes don’t turn around fast, according to a new report.
Lauer’s popularity has plummeted in the past year, according to the New York Times, and execs met with the staff to discuss the show’s struggles.
Staff members were alleged told that, “what matters most is the anchor connection to the audience; what we need to work on is that connection.”

The CW is reportedly spinning off The Vampire Diaries into a new series called The Originals, starring Joseph Morgan (Klaus) and Phoebe Tonkin (Hayley).
An upcoming episode of The Vampire Diaries, the network’s biggest hit, will serve as a “backdoor pilot” for The Originals. Tentatively, that’s set for April 25.
The title refers to Klaus’ status as one of the original vampires in the show’s mythology. Guy has been doing his badass, yet charming thing for a long time.
