Kree Harrison: So Happy for Candice Glover!

They say second place in the first loser.

But just try telling that to Kree Harrison.

On the heels of Candice Glover taking home the American Idol Season 12 title, Harrison didn’t sound remotely disappointed when chatting with Access Hollywood.

“I’m happy for her. I love her like a sister and I’m so freaking proud of her,” Kree said. “It’s a sisterhood further than friends forever could really understand because we’ve gone through this experience together. Not many people could understand it.”

Candice Glover to Release Album in July

Well, that didn’t take long.

Less than 24 hours after being crowned American Idol winner, Candice Glover has announced that she’ll be releasing her debut album.

It will be titled “Music Speaks,” go on sale July 16, is available now for pre-order off iTunes and will include the coronation song “I Am Beautiful.”

Meanwhile, Glover will soon be off on the American Idol Live! 2013 tour.

The 40-date tour begins June 29 and will make stops in cities such as New York, Los Angeles Chicago, Miami and Nashville.

Britney Spears is feeling kinda blue these days … but the new song she released for The Smurfs 2 is totally not. Take a listen to the upbeat track below!

Nicki Minaj to Exit American Idol: Report

Nicki Minaj is not long for American Idol.

In the least surprising news of the day, an insider tells Us Weekly that the singer will depart this Fox competition immediately following this week’s finale.

“It’s safe to say she isn’t coming back to Idol,” the source says, adding that Nicki will start focusing on her next album, touring, and endorsements. “She’s okay with it. She had a great time but was only going to do one season anyway.”

Randy Jackson has already resigned from Idol and producers are expected to replace the entire panel some time this summer.

Randy Jackson Resigns From American Idol

The Dawg has left the building.

Amidst historically low ratings and criticism that American Idol has grown stale, Randy Jackson resigned this afternoon from the Fox competition.

“Yo! Yo! Yo! To put all of the speculation to the rest, after 12 years of judging on American Idol I have decided it is time to leave after this season,” Jackson told E! News. “I am very proud of how we forever changed television and the music industry.”

Jackson went on to say he plans to focus on his company, Dream Merchant 21, as well as “other business ventures.”
