Blake Lively To Quit Gossip Girl To Pursue Movie Career?
(HMG) Is Blake Lively set to go the route of Katherine Heigl, minus the Emmy drama? Despite working on the set with her boyfriend (Penn Badgley), here are rumors that the 25-year-old star is allegedly sick of Gossip Girl’s behind-the-scenes arguments and wants out of the show.
An on-set source told Heat magazine: ‘Blake has asked producers to kill off her character. She’s tired of working on the show.
‘It was great at the beginning, but she’s started to get bored of her storylines and all the petty fights on set.
‘Nearly all the cast members have had some kind of bust –up. Besides the fact that she gets to work with, who plays Dan Humphrey), Blake wants to leave.’
Blake has already made a name for herself in Hollywood, and has been busy recently promoting her new film The Green Lantern, in which she stars alongside Ryan Renolds and is due to be released in 2011. She is now vying with Scarlett Johansson for a lead role in Robert Downey Jr. film ‘Gravity.’
The movie’s plot revolves around astronauts repairing the Hubble telescope who are hit with an avalanche of satellite junk. In a plot akin to “Cast Away,” the surviving astronaut must fight her way back to Earth, where she hopes to reunite with her daughter. During the past two weeks, Johansson and Lively tested for the lead role of a female astronaut lost in space. A decision is expected within the next week or two.
