Beyonce drops daddy Matthew Knowles as manager
(HMG Celebrity News) – Beyonce has announced that she has demoted Matthew Knowles to just daddy, as his services as her manager are no longer needed.
Daddy Knowles has been Beyonce’s manager since she debuted as a teen in the multiplatinum-selling group Destiny’s Child in the late 1990s and throughout her superstar career as a solo artist. But now, he’s out. Beyonce’s publicist, Yvette Noel-Schure, told the AP in a statement Monday that the Grammy-winning singer and her father have parted ways “on a business level.”
Beyonce says in the statement that she is grateful for the role her father has had in her career. She adds that “he is my father for life and I love my dad dearly.”
Matthew Knowles went on to manage the careers of her Destiny groupmates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams on their respective solo projects. He also manages his daughter (and Beyonce’s sister) Solange.”The decision for Beyonce and Music World Entertainment to part was mutual,” Matthew Knowles said. “We did great things together, and I know that she will continue to conquer new territories in music and entertainment.”
He said his record label will focus on its roster of artists in the gospel and inspirational genre. Though rumors have swirled since he founded the company in 2008, that Beyonce would be managed by husband Jay-Z’s Roc Nation company, it was not immediately known who will take over her management duties.
